Yarimar Rosa-Rodriguez (Puerto Rico) was candidate for the positions of Council Coordinator(s), but she didn't win these elections. As she had indicated before the elections, she now wants to become a Task Force Coordinator or a Dedicated Network Coordinator. Here's her text about herself and her plans:

Hi,

I am a doctoral student majoring in clinical psychology at the University of Puerto Rico. My goals as psychology student are undertake in research endeavors and the academic empress. My research interest is related to women's psychology and gender issues. In my particular case I want to address my effort to women's issues. The one that captures my attention is the sexuality component. The way that we manage our sexuality will make contributions to other spheres of our life. Nevertheless, sexuality is a macro that needs to be observed from many points of view. There are many variables that are related to our sexuality.

I'm also interested in public policy, specially in mental health policy. I'm currently a Teaching Assistant to the Latino Research Training Program. This program is devoted to trainee graduates students in HIV/AIDS research in five different areas: public policy, technology transfer, epidemiology, and prevention and program evaluation. It is based on the need to develop qualified Latino/a researchers who will contribute to the prevention of HIV/AIDS. I was honored with magna cum laude as graduation honor from my bachelor degree in psychology. During my bachelor I was fellow of the National Institute of Mental Health Career Opportunities in Research until my graduation. Then, I was admitted to the clinical psychology program at University of Puerto Rico. Here I held the position of clinical graduate students' representative during two years. Currently I'm member of the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students where I serve as a Campus Representative to my university. The American Psychological Association prized me with the Honor Mention of the APA Minority Fellowship Program in Mental Health Research. As a clinician I serve as a therapist at the University Center for Psychological Services and Research.
I would like to promote the IPSO to as many students in psychology programs that I can. I want the growth of this organization with the empowerment of its members. Also I would like to link this organization to others with the purpose to provide a huge network of organizations, colleges and students all around the world. Next, I want to dedicate my efforts to the identification of funding resources for students who want to investigate and other opportunities for growth and development.
